In true mentor fashion today, I got my butt kicked and my head was screwed back on straight. This entire situation with the coronavirus has really thrown people for a loop, myself included. Back in February while in Florida at quad selection camp, I had put together a strategic plan outlining the big goals I have and the steps I need to be taking daily, weekly, monthly to work towards them. It was nice, it was manageable, and it was organized (something I am very big on).  When COVID19 hit, it threw all my routines, my short term benchmarks, and my immediate plans on how to move forward up in the air. Since late March I have been pivoting to bring my business to work with clients online and remotely, trying to create content to help create exposure for myself, and just generally trying to stay afloat.

Today I was reminded that just because the world threw a curve ball doesn’t mean that what any of us are working towards is on hold. The way we go about working towards a goal, sharing our IP, building a brand, needs to be flexible and adaptable to the situation. It means, in my case, speaking to people on camera. It means organizing and prep-ing my editorial calendar so what I post flows and builds on itself, rather than just throwing stuff out and seeing what sticks. It means getting uncomfortable. Man evolves or he dies. Time to get primal.
