Mile Wide, Inch Deep

I came into the new year as most of us do, with a list of things I want to accomplish, change, explore in the new year. My “modest” list of New Year’s Resolutions (included below). One of the big ones on my list this year was to increase the amount of writing I do and to consistently post or write something for this website. I am not someone who can just sit down and write. I am much better with the spoken word than the written one, in part due to the fact that I never feel as if I have important, cool, or interesting things to say.

Well a few days ago I was told, once again, that that is a load of bull and I have plenty to say. The only difference was that I then talked through my thought process around writing, what I want to write about, and how I can make it more manageable. Which boils down to this; I am going to be pulling from list of New Year’s Resolutions and going through the process with you all. I could write exclusively about lift, training, breathwork, etc, but frankly that would get a bit boring and I am personally excited by the idea of having a knowledge base that is a mile wide and an inch deep. Well, maybe more like six to eight inches deep.

So this blog is going to encompass the habits I’m developing and the challenges I’m facing throughout the year as they relate to my New Year’s Resolutions and my overall goals in life. Hopefully it’s mildly entertaining for you the reader, it will be good for me since the content won’t get stale and repetitive, and it will be a nice way of staying accountable. And yes, there will still be training content and thoughts on here too, just not at the exclusion of everything else that is the subject of the other 23 hours of our day.

Enjoy.
